What is a calf MRI?
A calf MRI uses magnetic resonance imaging to produce detailed images of the structures within the lower leg between the knee and ankle.
It may also be described as an MRI of the lower leg.
MRI does not use X-rays or ionising radiation. It uses a strong magnetic field, radiofrequency signals and computer processing to create detailed images.
