What Is Fibromyalgia?

Fibromyalgia, previously also known as muscular rheumatism and fibrositis, is a condition of unknown cause and is characterized by aching pain, tenderness and stiffness of the muscles, tendon insertion areas and adjacent soft tissues. The disease is usually suspected when patients complain of exhaustion and fatigue along with presence of multiple tender points (points on the body which are tender on applying pressure).
